The spotlight shines on 20-year-old Michigan native Carson Hocevar, a full-time competitor in the NASCAR Truck Series. With an impressive track record boasting 5 outings in the Xfinity Series and a consistent presence in the Truck Series, Hocevar’s name has been etched in the minds of racing aficionados. Accumulating a remarkable tally of 3 wins and 1 pole position, he’s firmly secured his spot in the truck series playoffs, currently standing 4th in the standings after 2 playoff races out of 7.

Carson Hocevar will drive the Legacy Motor Club No. 42 Cup car at Darlington. Hocevar was originally slated to drive for Spire in the Xfinity race at Darlington but will instead focus on the Cup effort for Legacy. Drivers for the No. 42 for remainder of the season still TBD.

Stepping up from the Truck Series to NASCAR’s upper echelons is not an unfamiliar territory for Hocevar. Earlier this year, in June, he marked his cup series debut behind the wheel of the #7 Chevy for Spire Motorsports at WWT Raceway during the Enjoy Illinois 300 event. His maiden run had spectators in awe as he displayed remarkable dominance, running alongside front-runners and impressively holding his own within the top 15. Unfortunately, fate had other plans, and a mechanical brake failure dashed his hopes, culminating in a DNF.

Carson Hocevar’s journey has accelerated into high gear, as a recent showdown at the Milwaukee Mile showcased his tenacity in the heat of competition during the Clean Harbors 175. Despite maneuvering his less dominant truck, Hocevar refused to relinquish the fight for the top spot. Plunging deep into turn 3, a daring move led to a tense contact between the two contenders. Miraculously, both drivers averted disaster, avoiding a spin, yet sealing Hocevar’s fate at a respectable P2 finish.

Following Monday’s announcement, a deeper connection between the two surfaces as Legacy Motor Club tweeted the news of Hocevar’s Cup Series entry, with the message: “NEWS: Carson Hocevar joins the Club to pilot the No. 42 this Sunday at Darlington.”

Hocevar’s witty reply to this read, “Excited to stay racing on Sunday! Little did everyone know yesterday was battling a teammate(ish),” playfully alluding to his on-track skirmish with Enfinger, referencing Enfinger’s own contribution to the #42 Chevy during his Cup Series debut at Sonoma.
